Since December 2008, we have been running an exciting short film competition for those in the film industry. As an insurance provider to the film and media sector, we at Performance decided to host an evening of glitz, glamour and prizes to celebrate the work of budding film makers from across the UK.
We were astounded by the amazing response we had - especially the quality of film submitted, as it made the job of choosing the winners a tricky one for the
judges.
The awards ceremony was held at the world famous BAFTA on Wednesday 25th March, with 6 of our lucky finalists having their short film screened on the night in front of their peers and representatives from the film and media industry.
From the 6 films screened, the three prize winners announced on the night were:
- Gone Fishing; £5,000 cash prize!
- Momster; £4,500 worth of post-production work for free, plus any additional work required being given at a discounted rate! Kindly provided courtesy of Rocket post
- Hammerhead; A RED ONE camera shooting package including camera, lenses and all necessary accessories for a weekend period, a total value of £60,000 worth of equipment with a £1,500 hire value, generously donated by Filmscape Media
We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who entered and supported our competition and pass on our congratulations to those who were shortlisted from the hundreds of films received. Keep up the good work, and we hope to see more of your films in the future!
